Scandinavian Design Guide

A Scandinavian kitchen usually comes together in a clear order: layout first, then cabinets, then materials, then color and finishing details.

Scandinavian Kitchens FAQ

What is a Scandinavian style kitchen?

A Scandinavian style kitchen is designed to feel easy to use and pleasant to live with. It often combines light finishes, wood textures, simple cabinetry, and practical storage to create a space that feels open, quiet, and functional.

What colour works best for a Scandinavian kitchen?

White, soft gray, beige, muted green, and natural wood tones all work well in a Scandinavian kitchen. The best choice depends on how warm or crisp you want the room to feel, but lighter shades are often used to help the space feel brighter.

How do you make a small kitchen Scandinavian?

Start with a layout that uses space well and avoids visual noise. Light finishes, good storage, and a limited mix of materials can help a small kitchen feel bigger, calmer, and easier to keep organized.

What cabinets are used in Scandinavian kitchens?

Scandinavian kitchens often use flat-front cabinets or very simple shaker-style doors. Finishes are usually light wood, white, or other soft neutrals, with hardware kept subtle so the cabinets feel understated rather than decorative.

What is the difference between Scandinavian and Japandi kitchens?

Scandinavian kitchens usually feel lighter and more casual, with pale finishes and a softer overall look. Japandi kitchens take a more restrained approach, often using deeper wood tones, stronger contrast, and a slightly more structured, minimal style.

Scandinavian Chic Kitchen Transformation

"We wanted our new home to be modern, yet cozy and a little bit homey, and Corner showed us how it could be done," said Dhwani.

Dhwani knew one of the first rooms to be transformed had to be the kitchen. They took inspiration from our Scandinavian stylish kitchens and a layout was developed. We chose a warm wood shade for their kitchen to create a cozy, natural atmosphere, which is typical of Scandinavian kitchens. The gray matte upper cabinets exude minimalism. The addition of glossy countertops on the cabinets and kitchen island created a stunning combination of textures, which is the hallmark of modern Scandinavian style kitchen.

The kitchen is priced at $27,340.

(This price includes all doors, frames, plinths, mechanisms, and shipment.)
