Minimalist Kitchen In the Loire Valley

Set in the Loire Valley, this kitchen combines minimal forms with warm materials to create a space that feels understated, practical, and quietly refined.

In the bright, streamlined kitchen, the integrated appliances and a wood veneer shelf recessed into the cabinetry become the defining focal points.

The rounded cabinet forms soften the minimalist language, making the kitchen feel lighter and more inviting.

This kitchen was designed to feel composed and highly functional, bringing harmony between minimalist lines and tactile materials. Here, simplicity isn’t emptines, but a framework that quietly hides everyday advantages.

The design process began with a careful look at how the kitchen would be used day to day. Particular attention went to the layout and storage strategy, which allowed the space to stay practical without feeling visually busy.

“We wanted the kitchen to feel spacious within its footprint,” say the owners. “Not overloaded with details, but with everything we need for everyday life.”

The pantry design centers on open shelving and warm wood veneer details, adding a natural, tactile layer to the pared-back space.

The white Fenix NTM fronts have a soft, matte finish, giving the kitchen a quiet presence and a gentle glow.

Open side shelves interrupt the pantry’s clean, bright surfaces, introducing contrast and a dedicated spot for storing or displaying smaller items.

A defining design move was the pantry with rounded edges. The homeowners had noticed this detail in Corner’s latest Japandi collections and wanted to bring it into their own project. The curves add variety to the geometry, soften the strictness of minimalism, and give the space a more tactile, furniture-like quality.

The cabinetry combines matte Fenix NTM Bianco Male fronts with wood veneer on the open shelving, creating a gentle contrast. The light-reflective white tone keeps the room bright and inviting, while the wood grain adds warmth and depth.

The rounded-edge pantry sits just outside the kitchen, yet stays closely tied to it, visually consistent, and designed to work as one continuous system.

Matte-black fixtures punctuate the Dekton countertop, while under-cabinet LED lighting brings a soft warmth to the work zone.

The kitchen area was planned to stay open and easy to use, supporting both cooking and everyday tasks. Storage became a central part of the solution: along with concealed drawers and open shelves, the pantry incorporates a dedicated zone for household appliances to keep countertops clear.

Materials continue the theme of quiet balance. The Dekton countertop is both durable and refined, while the cooktop with a built-in downdraft extractor keeps the work surface visually clean. Additional appliances, including the panel-ready refrigerator, disappear behind matching matte fronts.

With integrated lighting, the kitchen is washed in a warm glow, enhancing its soft, bright character.

The pantry includes an open appliance-garage zone with built-in outlets, topped with Dekton for a durable, refined work surface.

The kitchen becomes a compact cooking nook within the new build, yet it still feels open, defined by clean lines and a seamless flow into the surrounding space.

Lighting plays a key role in the atmosphere. Under-cabinet LEDs add soft, warm illumination that highlights textures and improves task visibility, making the space feel more welcoming after dark.

The result is a kitchen that doesn’t demand attention, but rewards a closer look. Balanced, warm, and functional, it reflects contemporary minimalism: restraint, clarity, and care in the details.

“Everything looks natural,” the homeowners add. “Nothing stands out, and nothing feels unnecessary. It’s the perfect space for our life.”
